The presence of THERMOBREAK in an extruder during the production break (prolonged heat exposure at processing temperature) prevents the formation of burn-ins inside a cylinder and considerably reduces the time-period necessary for its cleaning.

| Composition

Active components of THERMOBREAKpolymer consist of additives and stabilizer systems providing high resistance towards long-term heat exposure and ability to prevent the formation of burnt-in deposits in the ‘dead’ spaces of an extruder. The carrier matrix is polypropylene or low-density polyethylene.

| Application

Empty extruder is fed up with THERMOBREAK and left to cool down or left heated up for few hours during a technical break, e.g. instrument maintenance. At the end of the break, extruder is emptied and purged in a standard way. THERMOBREAKis not intended to be blended, it is used as it is - in the original 100% state.
